  • The possible functions of staff behavior are the same as ALL living organisms: Sensory, escapte, attention, and/or tangible
  • Tangible-maintained behavior of a staff member may be best intervened by providing competing opportunities to access the desired tangible related to work behaviors you want to increase
  • BCBA should aim to address insufficient performance using function-based strategies and reinforcement.
  • If a staff member continuously shows up late to work because they don't want to deal with the difficult parent of their client, you should provide training, support, and reinforcement for the staff memebr to successfully work with the parent.
  • Aviodance behavior of a stff member may be best intervened by figuring out why the staff is avoiding the task, addressing it, and creating competing contingencies.
  • Attention-seeking behavior of a staff member may be best intervened by providing the praise or social-time in relation to contingencies of the behaviors your want to increase in an appropriate context.
