Rule-governed behavior
- typically have delayed consequence (e.g., getting your first speeding ticket probably did not occur for the first time you engaged in speeding.)
- behavior occurs due to control by a verbal description of a contingency(indirect exposure/warning) Rather than previous experience with a contingency itself
- the reinforcement history provided or controlled by the Rule-giver is a major factor in the success of the individual with following rules.
