Antecedent based interventions
Antecedent based interventions involve manipulating some aspect of the physical Or social environment before the behavior occurs.

Modifications made antecedents to see the stage for desired response and to prevent or reduce the likelihood of maladaptive behaviors from occurring.

There are various antecedent based interventions involving Mps and  SDs including the following,
Deprivation/saturation
Medical interventions
 preparation
providing choices
 prompting
creating a safe environment
 limiting distractions
 incorporating special interest Behavior momentum
advanced notification- countdowns and wait cards
 teaching replacement Behaviors
 systematic desensitization

Creating a stimulating environment
 modifying task
Interspersing prepared/ non-preferred activities
 Behavior contracts
priming rules, expectations, and assess to reinforcement( first/ then)
 creating opportunities
Alternating passive vs active activities and providing breaks
 delivery of instruction
non-contingent Reinforcement
pairing teaching environment with the reinforcement

 prevent hair pulling
-pool hair back and restrict access
- use accessories to limit access( hat, hoodie)
- create a safe distance and mortify physical proximity to reduce access (eg, stand behind or sit across the table from client)
